Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 19, 2026 · Last updated: July 21, 2026
The short version: your well records stay on your phone. No accounts, no Wellkept servers, no analytics, no ads, no data brokers. The only thing that ever leaves your device is anonymous purchase validation when you buy an unlock (see Payments below). Delete the app, and your data is gone with it.
1. Who We Are
Wellkept is a private well water tracking app for iOS and Android, made by an independent developer. This policy covers both the Wellkept mobile app and the wellkeptwell.com website. Questions? Email support@wellkeptwell.com.
2. What We Never Collect
Wellkept does not collect, harvest, transmit, upload, sell, share, or store any of your well data on external servers. Specifically, we never collect:
- Personal information — no name, email, phone number, or account of any kind
- Location data — the app never requests or uses your device's location
- Water test results, lab values, contaminant logs, or photos of lab reports
- Equipment records, maintenance schedules, or reminder settings
- Usage analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints
There is no Wellkept backend server. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The single exception to "nothing leaves your device" is purchase validation when you buy an unlock — anonymous, and covered in the Payments section below.
3. Local Storage — Your Data Lives on Your Device
All of your records — water test results, custom contaminant logs, equipment details, testing schedules, and reminders — are stored exclusively in the app's private, local database on your physical device. That storage is sandboxed by iOS and Android and protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, fingerprint).
The app works fully offline. It never needs an internet connection to function, and it makes no network requests to Wellkept servers — there aren't any.
Reminders use your device's local notification system. Scheduling and delivery happen entirely on your device; no reminder content ever leaves it.
Photos you attach (lab reports, your wellhead) are stored with your other records on the device. The report-scanning feature reads text from photos using on-device recognition — the image is never uploaded anywhere.
If you use the in-app "Back up my data" or export features (PDF, CSV), the app creates a file on your device and hands it to you. Where you send or store that file is your choice and your responsibility — we never receive it.
If you use your device's standard backup (iCloud or Google backup), your Wellkept data may be included in that backup like any other app's data. Those backups are managed by Apple or Google under their own policies and are never visible to us.
4. Data Control and Deletion
You own your data, full stop. Because everything is stored locally, deleting the Wellkept app from your device immediately and permanently deletes all data the app ever held. There is no server-side copy to request, export, or purge — no deletion request forms, no waiting periods, no residual records.
5. Children's Privacy
Wellkept is intended for homeowners and is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no personal information from anyone — children included.
6. The Website (wellkeptwell.com)
This landing page is a static site. It uses zero tracking cookies, zero third-party analytics scripts, and zero advertising trackers. We do not log visits, build profiles, or run any measurement of any kind.
For the technically curious: the page loads its fonts and styling libraries from standard public content-delivery networks (Google Fonts and open-source CDNs). Like any web request, those providers may see your IP address when serving those files. That is the full extent of it — no cookies are set, and no information about you is gathered or shared by us.
7. Payments and Purchases
Wellkept's one-time purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. Purchases are governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies.
To validate purchases and restore them on a new phone, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), a purchase-processing service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID (not your name or email), your purchase receipt from Apple or Google, and basic device information (model, OS version, app version). RevenueCat never receives any of your well or water data. This is the only data that leaves your device, and it exists solely so your purchase works and can be restored.
Some product links in the app are affiliate links (for example to Amazon or a water-testing provider). Tapping one opens the merchant's site under the merchant's own privacy policy; the link identifies Wellkept as the referrer but carries none of your data.
8. Changes to This Policy
If Wellkept's privacy practices ever change — for example, if a future feature required any form of data handling — we will update this page before the change takes effect and revise the "Last updated" date above. Given the app's local-first design, we don't expect this policy to need much changing.
